With miles of bike-friendly trails & pathways through a variety of landscapes, Richmond / Wayne County is a must-visit for cyclists. Take a leisurely family bike ride on the 62 miles of the Cardinal Greenway, explore miles of mountain biking trails winding through quiet woods or follow the City Bike Loop connecting historic districts. No two biking experiences are the same!
No bike? - No Problem! Thanks to Cycling and Fitness Warehouse, you are able to rent a FREE bike for use on one of our many trails.
Want to connect with local cyclists before your trip? Be sure to visit the local Bike IN Richmond Facebook group to ask questions about bikes, get insight on trail difficulties, organize group rides or just make a new friend.
Cycling and Fitness Warehouse, on S. 3rd in Richmond, across from the Cardinal Greenway, rents free bikes. They also rent helmets and locks. Bikes are available on a 1st come 1st served basis.

Get back to nature along Indiana's longest paved rails-trails which spans 62 miles from Richmond through Muncie to Marion, Indiana. The terrain is gentle, for hikers, joggers, cyclists, skaters, and outdoor enthusiasts. No Bike, No Problem . . . Cycling & Fitness Warehouse offers FREE bike rental and is located one block south of the Greenway trailhead.
Richmond Indiana’s Bike Park! The City Bike Park provides families and biking enthusiasts access to a fun, yet challenging bike park. Multiple features accommodate all skill levels, and there are areas developed to offer training and practice opportunities.
The Track consists of 2 lanes:
Voted as one of the top Bike Trails in the state of Indiana by Indiana Office of Tourism Development.
The Richmond Bike Loop is a protected bike path that takes you through Richmond's downtown and Depot Districts as well as connecting to the Whitewater Gorge. The Bike Path provides space that is used for bicycles and is separated from motor vehicle travel lanes, parking lanes and sidewalks.
The brand new Riverside Heritage Trail is a must see beautiful 1 mile stretch of paved trail that is still a work in progress but safe to use, relaxing, cool, and ready for you. The trailhead is located at North 17th and North J Streets.
Along this paved trail through the historic gorge area, hikers, cyclists and nature lovers will be able to explore the geological and historical significance of the Whitewater Gorge, as well as its natural rugged beauty. Fossils found along the trail are from animals that lived about 450 million years ago on the bottom of a warm shallow sea that covered this area. Free.
