Children can get up close and personal with nature at Hayes Arboretum's Nature Playscape! Unlike traditional playgrounds, the nature playscape uses natural materials to provide a creative and interactive play experience.
This 46 acre site is a reforested wetland. Located within the city limits of Hagerstown, the disturbed area was saved from the bulldozer through the passionate efforts of nearby resident, Steve Swoveland. Thousands of trees have been planted in the river valley area to help it return to its natural state. 1 mile mowed hiking path.

1907 CB&Q Way Car caboose historically restored by The Wayne County Railroaders Association (WCRA). Enjoy the beauty of the outdoor garden railway and tour the caboose on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month April thru October noon to 5pm. Open at additional times by special request.
Cycling and Fitness Warehouse, on S. 3rd in Richmond, across from the Cardinal Greenway, rents free bikes. They also rent helmets and locks. Bikes are available on a 1st come 1st served basis.

You can launch your own fishing boat there for only $6/day or you can buy a yearly launch permit for $50/IN state resident, $60/out of state resident. The Middlefork Reservoir is a "NO WAVE, NO WAKE" area. Rental options are currently unavailable.
Brookville Lake is situated in the picturesque Whitewater River Valley with traces of prehistorical Indian mounds known for their archaeological significance. Something for everyone. Brookville has a 5,260 acre lake that is great for fishing complete with 10 ramps around the lake and four marinas. There are picnic and camping areas, beaches, and cabins for rent.
A beautiful assortment of flowers attract butterflies to Hayes Arboretum's Butterfly Garden. The butterfly garden is not only stunning to observe, but it makes a meaningful impact by creating habitat for butterflies in all of their life stages. Bring your cameras and relax in this peaceful oasis.
This is a great park course that packs a bit of a challenge with a lot of out of bounds and water hazards. All tee pads are 4x11 concrete pads which lead to a bright white basket. There are 18 pads with 9 baskets. This brand new course (Fall 2021) is built for all players. Come into the park and play a round and then hit up town for antiques or one of our locally owned restaurants.
Get back to nature along Indiana's longest paved rails-trails which spans 62 miles from Richmond through Muncie to Marion, Indiana. The terrain is gentle, for hikers, joggers, cyclists, skaters, and outdoor enthusiasts. No Bike, No Problem . . . Cycling & Fitness Warehouse offers FREE bike rental and is located one block south of the Greenway trailhead.
A public memorial was built to honor those who served in Vietnam. A POW/MIA memorial from the when the traveling wall memorial came through Wayne County, a stone listing the number of those who died in Vietnam, and a statue of the military rifle and boots are all included surrounded by Indiana stones. Richmond Indiana’s Bike Park! The City Bike Park provides families and biking enthusiasts access to a fun, yet challenging bike park. Multiple features accommodate all skill levels, and there are areas developed to offer training and practice opportunities.
The Track consists of 2 lanes:

Clear Creek Park has plenty of amenities at your disposal; a dream basketball court, sensory playground, sensory garden, pickleball courts, picnic areas, and a baseball diamond.
With over 3 miles of trails traversing 130 acres, Cope Environmental Center has something for everyone. Hike through Indiana prairies and hardwood forest, explore wetlands and ponds. Discover birds, wildflowers, insects, and reptiles or enjoy a quiet sit on the benches scattered throughout the nature areas.
Over the years a total of 29 covered bridges were built in Preble County, Ohio. Today, seven covered bridges remain including the oldest bridge in the state of Ohio.
